Fourth of July 2012

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY 2012!!!

4th of July in England!!  This year we stayed home for the 4th.  The military base threw a pretty nice shin dig complete with the a USO American Idol tour!

The kids loved the carnival rides, food, games, bouncy castles, everything!

Bryon and I loved seeing all the red white and blue (including in the bake sale items above), smelling 'fair' food, seeing families relaxing and spending time together, just like if I was home going to the Cleveland County Fair.

and if that wasn't great enough..  to top it all off,

right in the middle of everyone's festivities,

the Star Spangled Banner started playing on the loudspeakers.

The chaos stopped.  Hundreds of soldiers, spouses and children all became silent as we listened to that proud song and saw Old Glory waving in the breeze.

Soldiers all over the field stood in salute to our Anthem. Solemn faces, proud hearts and dedication to our great nation flooded the hearts of every American present there that day.

In the midst of a foreign land, home was very close,

on this

our Independence Day.
