Why I love England

One incredible thing about living in England is this.. these views, the stillness and natural beauty all around us. This little footpath is right behind our village. It takes you through wheat fields, tree canopies like the one here, horse pastures, fields of wildflowers and much more. One Sunday afternoon, we went on a walk which turned into a 3 hour hike through the woods. Beauty like this is addictive.

Big sister moments

Molly and Daniel moments. They have taken to each other so well. I am so thankful for my sweet babies that God has so graciously given me.

Strawberries a bloomin!

Molly and I decided to try our hand at gardening this year. Unfortunately, our landlords wouldn't let us dig in the lawn so we found these grow bags and grew our fruit and vegetables without the lawn! We planted 9 strawberry plants, two tomato and one bell pepper plant and lots of romaine lettuce. We also planted seedlings in March and saw them bloom beautifully these past couple of months. These are the pictures from our first ripe strawberry.

Baking projects

Having my mother-in-law here has been great. I know very few people would actually like their mother-in-law staying in their house for 6 weeks, but I am blessed to have a fantastic one and we have had a blast. She has helped me with my knitting, housework, taking care of the kids, and so much more. One thing we have been doing together quite often is from scratch baking. I have always been intimidated with the whole concept of kneading dough and working with yeast (aside from dropping it in my bread machine).
Below are some of my newest creations. It is very fulfilling knowing that what you are putting in your families mouths are fresh and without chemicals and preservatives. So stay tuned for more of my baking projects in the future.

I forgot to take an end picture of these but they are homemade cinnamon rolls, Bryon's favorite treat.

These I made for afternoon tea. They are homemade jam sandwhich biscuits (or cookies is what we would call them).

Cadbury World

Welcome to Cadbury World!

Making our way through the factory, they gave us tons of candy and had several neat craft areas for kids. This one had you decorate the tables in melted chocolate. Here is my decoration :)

I thought this was cool. It lists all of the types of Cadbury candy that have been made and what years they were made.

This is how Molly went through the factory. On dad's shoulders.

The last part of the factory took us through something called "Essence" which basically was a make your own chocolate treat shop. Molly had melted chocolate and cereal. I had chocolate and gummie bears, Gram had chocolate and shortbread, Bryon had chocolate and marshmallows.
Time to go! My mouth is sufficiently covered in chocolate. I won't sleep a wink tonight! yahooooo!!!

3 week old??? no way!

This is my 3 week old.. He is currently 6 weeks old but these were taken at 3 weeks on our first day out in public. Love these jeans and ball hat but love the facial expressions the most.

Where did you get Weston?

In case you were wondering where this handsome little man got his name...

Daniel is Bryon's middle name and here is where Weston comes from. Our village here in the UK is called Old Weston... Bryon's dad was visiting when we were discussing names and we were discussing how we could incorporate his British birth into his name. He said, why don't you name him Weston? Thus, in honor of Daniel being born in the UK, we thought this name would be unique and appropriate. Sooo, for all you folks who have asked where we got his name from, here ya go!

Welcome to England Nini!

Happy Birthday Nini! She arrived on her birthday and here she is posing with her yummy chocolate cake. Thanks Tonya, it was fantastic!

My little man!

My little Daniel is now 6 weeks old!!!
At my little man's 6 week visit, he measured in at....
Weight 12ib 6oz
Length 25 inches

This means he is still 91% in weight and 98.5% in length. They measured his head circ this time and it was 91% as well. So my big man is still a big man! Here are the pictures I took yesterday while he was playing on the play mat. He is now smiling at me and cooing. He rarely ever cries. Even when he's hungry he just kinda squeeks. He is so relaxed and chill just like his dad. Totally the opposite from me :) He is sleeping 5-6 hours during the night, waking up to eat and then going back to sleep for 3 more hours. I am so thankful for my sweet handsome little guy.
